The Yangwang U9 is an all-electric luxury hypercar developed by BYD’s high-end sub-brand, Yangwang. It is designed to be a technology-driven performance machine, directly challenging the world’s most exclusive electric and combustion-engine supercars. It is a technological showcase for BYD’s advanced EV platforms and control systems. It is a low-slung, wide two-door, two-seat coupe that maximizes aerodynamic efficiency. The design incorporates numerous active and passive aerodynamic elements, including specific skirts, massive side air intakes, and an imposing rear diffuser. The top trims feature a three-stage Adaptive Electric Tail Wing (or spoiler) that automatically adjusts based on speed and driving mode to maximize downforce and stability. The entire body is a study in airflow management, with over 12 sets of active and passive aerodynamic packages.
