The Beijing X7 (also branded as BAIC X7 in global markets) is a mid-size crossover SUV produced by BAIC Motor’s Beijing sub-brand. It is positioned as a modern, high-tech, and spacious family SUV, built on the BMFA (Beijing Modular Functional Architecture) platform, which supports both internal combustion engine (ICE) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. The front is characterized by a sleek, assertive design with a grille that has been notably reduced in size compared to older BAIC models. It features penetrating headlights (connected by a chrome strip across the front) that emphasize its width. Higher trims can include “Hidden Smart Sense Door Handles” which pop out when approached. The X7 offers a high level of luxury with seating often upholstered in Nappa leather (or high-quality imitation leather). The seats are ergonomic, designed to reduce muscle fatigue, and top trims include heating, ventilation, and massage functions for the front seats.
