The Lexus IS is a compact luxury sport sedan known for its aggressive, provocative styling, high build quality, and focus on delivering a rear-wheel-drive-biased, engaging driving experience. It serves as Lexus’s primary competitor to the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The headlamps are sharp and often feature Premium Triple-Beam LED Headlamps (sometimes in a unique, jewel-like arrangement). The most striking element is the distinctive singular taillamp that runs across the entire rear width of the car and tapers sharply to mere millimeters in the center. Standard upholstery is Lexus’s durable and plush synthetic leather, NuLuxe®, with genuine leather available on higher trims. Features like heated and ventilated front seats are common on F SPORT and luxury packages. The multimedia system is controlled via an 8.0-inch or optional 10.3-inch touchscreen display (some older models relied on a Remote Touchpad). The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.
